Cameras
Canon T5i
Old Faithful. Ive been shooting with this camera for 6+ years. This camera has survived 8 countries and countless drops, scrapes and TSA agents. This is a great intro / daily use DSLR, 18MP is plenty for a hobbyist. I like how sturdy and durable this body is and it captures some decent shots. It is a very user friendly camera that i’ll be sad to retire someday.
Sony Alpha A7iii
An enigma, I am still navigating how to operate this camera. From what I’ve seen from friends, it is a far superior camera to the Canon T5i. the small light weight body makes the Alpha A7iii ideal for travel and hiking. I do have hesitations taking this camera to very humid / wet areas due to multiple warnings I have read regarding water damage.
GoPro Hero
No matter how I try, the quality of movies and images on GoPro’s Instagram continues to elude me. However I take my GoPro everywhere, I feel this is a must have for any one that snorkels or partakes in water sports. We have captured some great underwater footage with the GoPros. The Newer ( 7 & 8 ) have incredible hyperlapse and slow motion capabilities that allow the user to create fun movies.
Drones
When I successfully operate / land one of these bad boys I’ll update more. The Karma is huge and bulky, making it a pain to travel with. The DJI Spark is compact and relatively easy to use. I highly recommend drone insurance, cost about $65 a year.
