Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM Telephoto Lens - My Newest addition to the arsenal and my favorite wildlife lens. This lens is a beast to carry around but it is worth the inconvenience, allowing me to get shots from afar. This lens resolved many of my photography frustrations, there were countless times spotting something in the wild that was too far to photograph. The Cannon EF 400mm 4/5.6L was the remedy.

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM - The Lens I use most. The Cannon 100mm Macro allows for incredible quality marco shots, letting in high amounts of light to increase clarity. I use this lens in combination with the Canon MT 24EX ring mount flash ( or a headlamp in a pinch ). I use this lens when photographing the smaller majority, it is by no means easy to get a frog the size of your thumbnail to cooperate for a shot but it is very rewarding when it works out.

Canon EF Wide-Angle Zoom 17-40mm f/4L USM - A solid all around everyday carry lens. I use it for landscape photography and my go to carry for exploring new ( non-wild ) places. The lens takes crisp shots and is very user friendly in both auto and manual mode.

Rokinon SP 14mm F2.4 High Speed Wide Angle - My Astrophotography lens. It can be used for more but the wide angle, manual focus with low f-stop makes for a great Milky Way catcher. I am working my way around this lens and will update when I become more familiar with its capabilities.

Flash & Lighting

Canon MT 24EX Ring Mount Flash - This flash was a game changer. I previously had a cheap ring mount flash that purchased off Amazon, it would fail / run out of batteries at the most inopportune moments. The Canon MT 24EX is an incredible flash that is best used for macro photography, the flash points can be moved and rotated to create the desired lighting effect. This is another example of equipment that alleviated photography frustrations.

Litra Torch w Joby arms on Litra Shoe Mount - This apparatus is what I use in a pinch or if I don’t want to pack in the Canon MT 24EX. This set up is a little more of a manual nuisance and doesn’t produce the same lighting as the Canon MT 24EX but its close.
